Held in Blackfriars Hall, the lofty oak panelled hall, full of paintings and décor added a great sense of occasion and history to the wine tasting. Complemented by Christmas decorations and festive music being played by pianist Maria Sun, it was set to be a festive filled evening.
Guests were welcomed with a glass of Laborie, chosen by our wine connoisseur, Tanja Wright and a canape which paired with the fizz. The locally based wine expert talked us through a variety of wines in an informal yet informative manner. We all learnt the art of wine tasting and took away plenty of knowledge and tips. The wine tasting was then followed by a warm buffet supper.
The evening was enjoyed by all and we look forward to holding it again next year.
Feedback from attendees included:
‘A very enjoyable evening, done with typical Steeles panache. Educational, enjoyable and good company in a wonderful setting which I always enjoy. Well done!’
‘We had a wonderful time at the wine tasting last night, thank you. It was a fabulous evening, we were thrilled to have been invited and to have been part of it.’
‘Thank you so much for yesterday evening, and please pass on my best wishes and thanks also to all involved in organising it – it was terrific!! The wine was excellent and the food in particular was completely spectacular (as was the company, of course!). The fact it ran like clockwork is testament to how hard people must have worked behind the scenes and a complete credit to you all.’
