Our Training Contracts

Our trainee solicitors are important to us, so ensuring we recruit the right people to the firm, is crucial.  We take on up to three trainee solicitors each year to complete a two year training contract.  Our trainee solicitors are based in either our Norwich or London office but are required to spend a minimum of one seat in each of our three offices.

Over the two year training contract, trainee solicitors undertake four six month seats across the firm in both contentious and non contentious areas.  We ensure that all our trainee solicitors are involved in the seat allocation process and their preferences along with SRA requirements and the businesses needs are taken into consideration when seats are decided.  Seats may include: Company Commercial, Litigation, Employment, Real Estate, Family, Personal Injury and Probate and Wills.

We aim to develop high calibre practitioners who are more than just lawyers.  We aspire that our legal specialists will be able to think on their feet and provide positive solutions to any problem they may encounter.  We encourgae all our trainee solicitors from day one to become involved in firm life and to gain hands on experience.  Attendance at marketing and networking events is essential from the start to enable our trainee solicitors to develop their business development skills and build professional contacts.

Our mentoring and appraisal systems provide support and guidance throughout the training contract.  The supervisor from each seat that our trainee solicitors undertake completes a mid-seat review and an end of seat review.  The appraisal is an opportunity for both the team supervisor and trainee solicitor to review performance and to set objectives for the future to give trainees the opportunity to learn and develop the essential skills for the future.
